Acupuncture + Herbal Medicine
We feel the movement of energy all the time, but we don’t always name it as energy. The sensations we feel in our body with a strong emotion, the tingle of recognition in our spine, the gut feeling when something seems off. These are all examples of our energy which is also known as qi (pronounced chi). Acupuncture works on the level of this movement.
There is a flow of qi constantly pulsing through the body. Due to stress, trauma, and habitual patterns, the qi in our system speeds up and slows down. It creates areas in our body that feel depleted or painful. Thin needles are utilized along your meridians, or inner pathways, to support the smooth flow of qi and enable you to feel better.
Your acupuncture visit will be a combination of a consultation and treatment. This will include what is presenting at the time of the session as well as relevant pieces of your health history. The discussion will create a framework for the treatment with acupuncture needles and may involve an herbal prescription and body work.
